Equipment composition of the stretch film extrusion machine

A stretch film extrusion line is composed by extruder, a die head, a sheet cast, longitudinal stretching, transverse stretching, an automatic winder, and a controlling system.

1. Extruder: The extruder is the central component that melts, plasticizes, and conveys raw materials.

Main functions:

• Melting LLDPE or mLLDPE resin
• Homogeneous mixing of additives (tackifiers, slip agents, recycled materials)
• Providing stable melt pressure to the die head

2. Die head: The die’s head forms a flat sheet of polymer that is melted by the heat of the molten polymer.

Main functions:

• Distributing the melt evenly across the width
• Controlling film thickness
• Supporting multi-layer co-extrusion structures (3-layer, 5-layer, etc.)

3. Sheet casting: The section that casts the movie quickly freezes the molten substance to maintain its consistency.

Main functions:

• Cooling and solidifying the film
• Controlling surface finish and transparency
• Ensuring flatness and uniform thickness

4. Longitudinal stretch: The unit that stretches longitudinally moves the film through the machine direction.

Main functions:

• Increasing tensile strength
• Enhancing elongation properties
• Improving load-holding performance

5. Transverse stretching: In some advanced strains, transverse tension increases the thickness of films in the cross direction.

Main functions:

• Improving mechanical balance
• Enhancing tear resistance

6. Automatic winder: The automatic winder will wind the completed movie into uniform, compact rolls.

Main functions:

• Controlled winding tension
• Automatic roll change
• Edge trimming (if required)

7. Controlling system: The system controls the entire extrusion process to produce stable and efficient products.

Main functions:

• Temperature regulation for all zones of heating.
• The speed of synchronization between units.
